The history of solar power is one that is still being written today. So many additional forms of research and energy still need to be collected in order for us to be able to get all that we can from solar power. We have come quite a long way with solar power, but still have such a long way to go. People have no idea how much we can benefit from solar power once we are able to get the necessary re courses from it.

Knowing about the breakthroughs of solar power and how we haven’t had one in a very long time will help to give people an idea of how important it is to be able to bring awareness to it. Solar power began in 1905 with Albert Einstein. From there, several advancements to it were made from people such as William Bailey, Robert Millikan. Then, in 1932 the photoelectric effect that is in cadmium sulfide is founded.

By the middle of the 1950s, solar power really began to become more popular. The first ever solar heated commercial office building was designed with the use of passive solar technology. This system is still being used today and the actual building itself is part of the National Historic Register.

The decade of the 1970s was when solar power really began to take off. There was a massive growth in solar PV cell use all over the world. The Lewis Research Center of NASA started to install eighty three photovoltaic power systems on every single continent with the exception of Antarctica.
